clear day

Today I bicycled from my house to epic cafe, enjoying the glorious blue sky and warm sunshine on my face. I've been holed up for the past several days with a head cold, kind of flu-y and fuzzy headed, so being outside felt like a real celebration. I can breath through my left nostril now; a wonderful thing, breathing. Right nostril breathing still to come.

Breathing in, breathing out

There's a nice grey cloud cover this morning in the usual sun-filled expanse of sky. Just back from a walk with Yuki in the cool air (it's only 75ºF!!--24ºC !!).

These days, I continue to go back to these simple mindfulness instructions (I say the words silently and slowly as I breathe in and out):

Breathing in, I know I am breathing in
Breathing out, I know I am breathing out

Simple, yet most effective.

Within a few breaths I am back in the present moment, the only place/time that life is truly available to us.

Time to work now.
