winged beings hovering

Back now from my four days in Chicago where we celebrated niece Sarah's Bat Mitzvah. I brought my camera and took lots of fun photos of family. However, my iPhoto software decided once again to delete its entire library without asking me first and without warning. I am left with the above drawings that my six-year old niece Rebecca made for me when we were coloring together yesterday afternoon. Rebecca's drawings capture the mood and feeling of the bat mitzvah for me: the smiling buzzy bugs and butterflies, a growing tree on green grass with flowers, the sun warming everything (it was unseasonably warm in Chicago), little caterpillars crawling, and Rebecca with her curly hair and those smiling antennaed beings hovering around her. Life buzzes on merrily.

I love children's pictures. I'm glad that you had a good time in Chicago.
